In light of Taylor Swift's massively successful Eras Tour and her recent movie release, it's evident she has a devoted fanbase. With 72,000 enthusiastic concertgoers singing along and each show raking in a staggering $13 million in ticket sales, her tour is nothing short of a triumph. Additionally, the movie "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" made an impressive $93 million domestically during its opening weekend and another $31 million overseas

A former classmate of Taylor Swift has shed light on the fact that she wasn't particularly popular during her high school days. In a TikTok video, Jessica McLane, who shared a hometown and high school with Swift, candidly expressed that most of their classmates weren't fans of the pop sensation before her rise to fame.

In fact, she claimed that many considered Swift's songs to be somewhat petty. McLane also revealed that, despite being in the same class as Swift, she didn't know much about the singer or her music while growing up, as she was more of a church kid.

In her own words, "I didn't really listen to Taylor Swift, I only got into her music later, so cut me some slack."

In 2009, during her senior year of high school, Jessica McLane and her classmates received a surprising invitation from Taylor Swift. The invitation was for none other than the 2009 CMA Awards, where Swift was scheduled to perform her hit song, "Fifteen."

McLane couldn't contain her excitement, thinking, "Who gets invited to the CMAs by Taylor Swift? That's really cool." However, she found it quite random, considering that most of Swift's classmates were not exactly her biggest fans.

It wasn't until this year when Taylor Swift announced the release of her album "Midnights" on Kim Kardashian's birthday, with whom she had previous conflicts, that McLane perceived a more calculated and petty side to the singer's actions.

McLane speculates that Swift's invitation to the CMAs might have been a way of saying, "You know what." She acknowledges, "And we deserved it."

Fans of Taylor Swift quickly rallied to her defense in the comments section. One supporter stated, "As she should! Stay petty, girl," while another pointed out, "No better revenge than success."
